Scroll's mission is to bring billions of users into the Ethereum ecosystem, becoming the most secure and trusted Layer 2 network processing trillions of dollars in on-chain transactions, and the default platform for new innovations. CR will be used as a protocol token to decentralize sequencers and certifiers, and coordinate innovations in the multi-chain world to open up a larger market. Scroll is the bytecode-level equivalent of Ethereum’s zkEVM Layer-2. Created in collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation’s PSE team, Scroll is a developer-friendly zkRollup that is consistent with Ethereum’s values. It has been launched on the mainnet and plans to decentralize validators and sequencers.
