Solution

By separating computing, consensus and storage, computing nodes generate results in parallel operation and submit the results to the consensus layer, which verifies the upchain. Since network consensus does not require all nodes to carry out, the performance is greatly improved, and each computing node adopts TEE trusted execution environment. No external application or underlying system can obtain the executing code and sensitive data inside the enclave, which effectively solves the scalability and privacy problems existing in the current public chain.

Project Implementation Mechanism

Oasis currently offers Parcel SDK, an NPM development package that lets developers write applications that interact with the Oasis network directly in JavaScript, without having to write smart contracts. Developers can use Parcel SDK to develop applications and deploy them on the Oasis network. The key manager provided by the corresponding confidential parallel time environment (each run time represents the duplicate application program with shared state, because the programs can run in parallel and are independent of each other, improving the overall performance of the network) generates the key pair, and encrypts the data uploaded by the user with the public key of the program. Then the consensus committee will randomly select a group of computing nodes that support TEE trusted execution environment for calculation, and the encrypted user data will enter the security area of the computing node with the corresponding program. If the verification result of the key manager is: The program in the security zone of the compute node is really the corresponding program, and the key manager will release the corresponding private key to unlock user data. When the calculation result is generated, Oasis will encrypt the calculation result before it comes out of the security zone.

Technical Characteristics

Computing consensus separation: Oasis network separates consensus services from computing, which significantly improves the overall performance of the network. Its core design mainly divides consensus and computing into consensus layer and ParaTime layer: 1) Consensus layer: consensus layer is a decentralized verification node set running the proof-of-interest blockchain; 2) ParaTime layer: The ParaTime layer is a set of parallel runtimes, each representing a replicated application with shared state. This design allows multiple runtimes to process transactions in parallel without affecting each other, meaning that complex calculations processed at one run time do not affect the speed of the other, improving overall network performance. Different from sharding, Oasis Labs uses differential detection. Once there is a conflict in the output results of compute nodes, nodes at the consensus layer verify which node's processing process is tampered with, and then remove the faulty node from the network. Generally, in order to ensure security, All nodes must compute hash values to ensure state consistency, so as to reach consensus. With differential detection, Oasis Labs can maintain the same security level as sharding in the case of smaller state replication, so as to improve performance while ensuring network security.

Release Mechanism

Oasis tokens total 10 billion, and at launch, the network will distribute approximately 8.05 billion ROSE tokens to existing stakeholders, founders, and community reserves. The breakdown of these distributions (as a percentage of the maximum supply) is as follows: Supporters: 23.0% Communities and ecosystems: 22.5% Core Contributors: 20.0% Foundation Gifts: 10.0% Strategic Partners and Reserves: 5.0% Oasis Network allocates the remaining 19.5% as pledge reward to verifiers and principals to protect the chain.
